The IPEX 9836005 is a 1/2-inch CPVC Schedule 80 Socket x Male Threaded Adapter designed for industrial and chemical process piping systems. Manufactured from Corzan chlorinated polyvinyl chloride (CPVC), this fitting connects socket-end pipe runs to male-threaded ports on equipment, valves, or transition fittings. Schedule 80 wall thickness provides the pressure rating and mechanical strength required in demanding service environments. Corzan CPVC resists a broad range of acids, alcohols, alkalies, salt solutions, and halogens, making it a reliable alternative to metal fittings in corrosive applications. Licensed plumbing contractors and industrial pipefitters are the primary installers.
This adapter is part of the IPEX Corzan Pipe, Valves, and Fittings (PVF) system, engineered and manufactured to consistent dimensional and performance standards under a single manufacturer. It is suited for chemical process lines, industrial fluid handling, and potable water systems where corrosion resistance and long service life are required. Because all components originate from one manufacturer, dimensional tolerances are held consistently across pipe, fittings, and valves, reducing compatibility issues common with mixed-source assemblies.
Designed for use within the IPEX Corzan Schedule 80 CPVC piping system, including compatible Corzan pipe, valves, and fittings manufactured to IPEX dimensional standards.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or qualified industrial pipefitter familiar with CPVC solvent-cement joining procedures. Verify that the solvent cement and primer used are rated for CPVC and meet applicable ASTM standards. Depressurize and drain the line completely before making any connections or modifications. Do not apply excessive torque to threaded connections, as CPVC threads are not designed for the same torque loads as metal fittings.
