The IPEX 9835020 is a 2-inch CPVC Schedule 80 socket x female threaded adapter designed for industrial and commercial piping systems. This fitting connects plain-end pipe to female-threaded pipe or equipment using a solvent-cement socket inlet and a female NPT outlet. Manufactured from Corzan CPVC, it delivers strong resistance to corrosion, oxidation, and a broad range of chemicals including acids, alcohols, alkalies, and halogens. The Schedule 80 wall thickness provides additional pressure capacity compared to Schedule 40, making it well suited for demanding process piping applications. Licensed plumbers and industrial pipefitters install this fitting where metal corrosion or chemical compatibility is a concern.
This adapter is used in chemical process piping, water treatment, industrial fluid handling, and other applications where CPVC thermoplastic is specified over metal. It is suited for both above-ground and underground installations, as Corzan CPVC is immune to damage from corrosive soil conditions and electrochemical or galvanic corrosion. Potable water service is also supported, as Corzan CPVC is listed with the National Sanitation Foundation (NSF) and CSA International for that use. The smooth interior wall of Corzan maintains consistent flow characteristics over the life of the installation without pitting, scaling, or rusting.
Designed for use within the IPEX Corzan CPVC Schedule 80 pipe, valves, and fittings system. Intended for integration with 2-inch Schedule 80 CPVC pipe and compatible Schedule 80 CPVC components manufactured to the same dimensional standards.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or qualified industrial pipefitter in accordance with applicable plumbing codes such as the IPC and relevant ASTM standards for CPVC solvent cementing. Shut off all flow and relieve system pressure before cutting into any existing line. Use only CPVC-rated solvent cement and primer on the socket end; do not use PVC-only cement on CPVC fittings. Thread connections should be made with PTFE tape or thread sealant rated for CPVC and thermoplastic fittings — do not use hemp or petroleum-based compounds.
