The IPEX 9835005 is a 1/2-inch CPVC Schedule 80 Socket x Female Threaded Adapter designed for industrial and chemical process piping systems. Made from Corzan chlorinated polyvinyl chloride (CPVC), this fitting connects plain-end pipe via solvent-cement socket on one end to a female NPT threaded fitting or valve on the other. Schedule 80 wall thickness provides added pressure capacity over Schedule 40. CPVC construction delivers strong resistance to a wide range of acids, alcohols, alkalies, salt solutions, and halogens, making it well suited for aggressive fluid handling. Licensed plumbers and industrial piping contractors install this fitting in process lines, chemical feed systems, and industrial fluid distribution.
This adapter is intended for industrial piping applications where corrosion resistance and chemical compatibility are required. Typical uses include chemical process systems, industrial fluid transfer, and potable water distribution where metal fittings are unsuitable or cost-prohibitive. Corzan CPVC is rated for use with potable water as listed by the National Sanitation Foundation (NSF) and CSA International. It performs reliably in underground installations where corrosive soil conditions or electrochemical and galvanic corrosion would degrade metal components.
Designed for use within the IPEX Corzan CPVC Schedule 80 Pipe, Valves, and Fittings system for industrial and chemical process piping applications.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or qualified industrial piping professional in accordance with applicable codes including the International Plumbing Code (IPC) and manufacturer solvent-cement guidelines. Shut off all flow and depressurize the line before cutting or joining any fitting. Use only CPVC-compatible primer and solvent cement rated for Schedule 80 fittings. Do not apply thread sealant paste to solvent socket ends, and do not over-torque threaded connections, which can crack the fitting body.
