The IPEX 9801130A is a CPVC Schedule 80 reducing tee designed for use in pressure piping systems where a perpendicular branch line must be taken off a main run at a reduced diameter. Rated for maximum service temperatures up to 200 degrees F under pressure, with occasional exposure to 212 degrees F, this fitting handles demanding thermal conditions found in hot and cold water distribution, industrial process lines, and chemical handling systems. All connections are socket-type, joined using standard CPVC solvent welding techniques. The part is produced from Xirtec CPVC compound, which resists rust, pitting, scaling, and corrosion on both interior and exterior surfaces.
This fitting is suited for residential and light commercial plumbing systems, as well as industrial process piping where CPVC is the specified material. The 1 inch run by 1/2 inch branch configuration makes it appropriate for reducing branch take-offs within a Schedule 80 CPVC system. Installation is performed by licensed plumbers or pipefitters familiar with solvent-welding procedures on thermoplastic piping. The socket-by-socket-by-socket end configuration allows direct integration into existing Xirtec CPVC piping runs without adapters.
Designed for use with Xirtec CPVC Schedule 80 piping systems in 1 inch main run and 1/2 inch branch configurations using solvent-weld socket connections.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or pipefitter with experience in CPVC solvent-weld procedures. Shut off and depressurize the piping system completely before cutting into any existing line. Use only CPVC-rated primer and cement; do not substitute PVC solvent cement, as it is not rated for CPVC compound. Allow full cure time per the cement manufacturer guidelines before returning the system to service, and verify compliance with applicable local plumbing codes such as the IPC or UPC.
