The IPEX 63234 is a 4-inch PVC 90-degree long turn street elbow designed for SDR35 sewer and drain piping systems. This gasketed fitting, also known as a 1/4 bend, connects a spigot end directly into a gasketed bell, eliminating the need for a separate coupling at the transition point. The Trench Tough Plus construction is engineered for underground installations where soil load and trench conditions demand a more impact-resistant fitting. Licensed plumbers and drainage contractors use this elbow to redirect gravity sewer lines at a 90-degree angle while maintaining smooth flow characteristics through the long-turn radius.
This fitting is suited for residential and light commercial underground sewer and drain applications. The SDR35 wall thickness rating makes it appropriate for standard-depth burial in typical soil conditions. The gasketed spigot-by-gasket (SxG) configuration allows field assembly without solvent cement at the gasketed joint, speeding up installation in wet or confined trench environments. This elbow is commonly used in building sewer laterals, storm drain lines, and underground drainage networks that follow D3034 PVC sewer pipe standards.
Designed for use with 4-inch SDR35 PVC sewer and drain pipe conforming to ASTM D3034. The gasketed bell end accepts a standard spigot, and the street spigot end inserts directly into a compatible gasketed fitting or pipe bell without solvent welding at that joint.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with the International Plumbing Code and applicable local sewer ordinances. Ensure the trench is properly graded and bedded before placing the fitting to maintain correct flow slope and prevent point loading on the fitting body. Lubricate the gasket and spigot with the appropriate pipe joint lubricant before assembly and verify full engagement of the spigot into the bell. Do not use solvent cement on the gasketed joint end.
