The IPEX 59626 is a CPVC Schedule 80 socket-by-socket reducer coupling designed to transition between 2.5-inch and 2-inch pipe and fittings in industrial piping systems. Built from Xirtec CPVC material made with Corzan CPVC compound, this fitting delivers the chemical resistance and pressure ratings associated with Schedule 80 CPVC construction. It is installed by plumbers and pipefitters working on industrial fluid handling, chemical distribution, and corrosive-service piping where thermoplastic fittings are specified over metal. The socket-by-socket end configuration accepts solvent-cemented connections on both ends.
This reducer coupling is suited for industrial process piping applications where a step-down transition between 2.5-inch and 2-inch CPVC lines is required. As part of the Xirtec CPVC product line, it is designed to work alongside other Xirtec Schedule 80 components to maintain system integrity across fittings, valves, and pipe segments. Typical installations include chemical processing plants, water treatment facilities, and industrial manufacturing environments where corrosion resistance and consistent material compatibility are required.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard component within the Xirtec CPVC Schedule 80 product line for industrial piping applications.
Installation is performed by licensed plumbers or qualified pipefitters following applicable codes such as ASTM D2846 solvent cement procedures and local plumbing codes. Depressurize and drain the piping system fully before cutting into any existing line. Use only CPVC-rated solvent cement and primer rated for Schedule 80 fittings. Allow full cure time before returning the system to service pressure.
