The IPEX 59461 is a CPVC Schedule 80 reducing coupling with a 1-inch socket inlet and a 1/2-inch socket outlet, designed for use in industrial and chemical process piping systems. CPVC construction allows this fitting to handle service temperatures up to 200 degrees F under pressure, with a design stress rating of 2,000 psi at 73 degrees F. The socket-by-socket configuration accepts solvent-cement connections on both ends for a secure, leak-tight joint. Licensed plumbers and industrial pipefitters install this type of fitting in process lines handling acids, alcohols, salts, and halogens where metal corrosion is a concern.
This coupling is intended for use in chemical processing, industrial fluid handling, and other applications where corrosion resistance and thermal performance outperform standard metal alternatives. It fits within the Xirtec CPVC piping system, which is engineered as a complete Pipe, Valves and Fittings package designed and manufactured to consistent dimensional and performance standards. Typical installations include chemical feed lines, process distribution headers, and industrial water treatment piping where reducing connections are required between pipe segments of differing diameters.
Designed for use within the IPEX Xirtec CPVC Schedule 80 piping system as an OEM-dimensioned reducing coupling for 1-inch to 1/2-inch socket connections in industrial and chemical process piping applications.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or qualified industrial pipefitter in accordance with applicable plumbing and process piping codes, including ASTM and ASME standards where required. Depressurize and drain the line fully before cutting or joining any fittings. Use only CPVC-rated solvent cement and primer appropriate for Schedule 80 fittings, and allow full cure time before restoring flow or pressure. Do not use this fitting with pipe sizes or system pressures outside the published Xirtec CPVC ratings.
