The IPEX 52009 is a 1-1/4-inch PVC ball valve with a socket by socket end configuration, designed for full-bore shutoff service in non-metallic piping systems. It features PTFE seats and EPDM seals, which provide chemical resistance and long service life in a wide range of fluid handling applications. The PVC body keeps the valve lightweight at 0.74 pounds and resistant to corrosion, making it a practical choice for plumbing, irrigation, pool and spa, and industrial process lines. Licensed plumbers and pipe fitters are the typical installers for this type of fitting.
This valve is suited for residential and commercial applications where a reliable manual shutoff is needed on a 1-1/4-inch PVC line. Common install scenarios include pool and spa equipment pads, chemical feed systems, irrigation manifolds, and general water distribution lines. The socket by socket end connections are designed to be solvent-cemented directly onto schedule 40 or schedule 80 PVC pipe, depending on the system design and pressure requirements.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation ball valve for 1-1/4-inch schedule 40 or schedule 80 PVC piping systems in plumbing, pool, spa, and industrial fluid handling applications.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or qualified pipefitter in accordance with applicable local plumbing codes and IPC guidelines. Depressurize and drain the line completely before cutting into an existing system. Use the appropriate PVC primer and solvent cement rated for the pipe schedule in service, and allow full cure time before returning the line to pressure. Do not use this valve with piping systems carrying fluids or operating at conditions outside the rated limits of PVC.
