The IPEX 500p405in22-1/2dsch40elb is a 5-inch Schedule 40 PVC conduit elbow with a 22.5-degree bend angle and plain ends. It is designed for use in electrical conduit systems where a shallow directional change is required without the sharp turn of a standard 45- or 90-degree fitting. Schedule 40 PVC construction provides adequate wall thickness for most above-ground and underground conduit runs. Electricians and electrical contractors install this fitting as part of raceway systems protecting conductors in residential, commercial, and light industrial applications.
This elbow is suited for direct-burial conduit runs, concrete encasement, and exposed above-grade conduit installations where a gradual 22.5-degree offset is needed. The plain-end configuration accepts standard solvent-weld connections, making it compatible with Schedule 40 PVC conduit of the same trade size. It is commonly used where routing constraints require subtle angular changes along a conduit run.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard fitting for 5-inch Schedule 40 PVC electrical conduit systems using solvent-weld plain-end connections.
Installation should be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC). De-energize all circuits in the conduit run before beginning work. Apply PVC solvent cement evenly to both the fitting socket and conduit pipe end, and allow adequate cure time before pulling conductors. Do not use this fitting with Schedule 80 fittings or push-fit systems without confirming dimensional compatibility.
