The IPEX 438167 is a Schedule 40 PVC reducing bushing with a spigot (male slip) inlet and a female threaded (FPT) outlet, sized 1-1/4 inches by 3/4 inch. It is injection molded from Type 1, Class 12454B PVC material and carries a pressure rating of 370 psi non-shock at 73 degrees F. The white finish and lead-free construction make it suitable for potable water systems as well as industrial and recirculating applications. Plumbers and pipefitters install this fitting wherever a pipe run must step down from a 1-1/4-inch line to a 3/4-inch female-threaded connection.
This bushing is rated for service in plumbing, irrigation, industrial piping, pool and spa systems, and drinking water distribution. The 140 degrees F maximum temperature rating covers typical cold- and hot-water residential and light commercial service. It meets NSF/ANSI 14 and 61G standards for drinking water contact and conforms to AB1953 lead-free requirements, making it an appropriate choice for potable water retrofits and new construction alike.
Designed as an OEM-style Schedule 40 PVC replacement bushing for 1-1/4-inch to 3/4-inch spigot-to-FPT transitions in residential and commercial plumbing, irrigation, pool and spa, and industrial piping systems.
This fitting is installed by licensed plumbers in accordance with applicable local plumbing codes and the International Plumbing Code (IPC). Shut off the water supply and depressurize the line before cutting into any existing pipe. The spigot end is solvent-welded into a socket fitting using PVC primer and cement per the fitting manufacturer and ASTM guidelines; the FPT end accepts a threaded male adapter with thread sealant tape or compound. Do not exceed the rated pressure or temperature limits for the fitting schedule.
