The IPEX 402015 is a Schedule 40 PVC tee fitting designed for use in pressure-rated piping systems across plumbing, irrigation, pool and spa, industrial, and potable water applications. The fitting features a slip x slip x female threaded (FPT) end connection configuration, allowing two solvent-weld socket connections and one threaded female branch outlet. Manufactured from Type 1 PVC with a white finish through an injection molding process, this tee carries a pressure rating of 330 psi at 73 degrees F and meets NSF/ANSI 14 and 61G standards for drinking water service. The lead-free construction makes it suitable for potable water systems.
This fitting is used in residential and commercial piping installations where a branch takeoff is needed on a 1-1/2 inch nominal Schedule 40 PVC line. Typical applications include domestic plumbing rough-in, irrigation manifolds, pool and spa return lines, and light industrial fluid handling. The female threaded branch outlet accommodates a threaded male adapter or valve, allowing a transition point or shutoff without additional fittings. Plumbers, pool service technicians, and irrigation contractors work with this fitting regularly in both new construction and retrofit scenarios.
Designed for use with 1-1/2 inch Schedule 40 PVC pipe and fittings in plumbing, irrigation, pool and spa, industrial, and drinking water system applications per ASTM D2466 and NSF/ANSI 14/61G standards.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or qualified tradesperson in accordance with applicable local plumbing codes and the International Plumbing Code (IPC). Shut off and depressurize the supply line before cutting into existing pipe. Solvent-cement the slip ends using a PVC primer and cement rated for Schedule 40 fittings; allow full cure time before pressurizing. The female threaded outlet should be assembled with thread sealant tape or compound rated for PVC to prevent joint leakage.
