The IPEX 400p4022-1/2dsch40elb is a 4-inch Schedule 40 PVC conduit elbow with a 22.5-degree bend angle and plain ends. It is used to route electrical conduit runs through gentle directional changes where a standard 90-degree or 45-degree sweep is not required. Made from rigid PVC, this fitting is suited for use in underground, encased, or above-grade conduit systems. Licensed electricians and electrical contractors install this type of fitting as part of a complete raceway system for wire and cable protection.
This elbow is designed for 4-inch trade-size Schedule 40 PVC conduit systems commonly installed in residential, commercial, and light industrial electrical applications. The 22.5-degree angle allows for shallow directional offsets in straight conduit runs, making it useful when routing around obstructions or transitioning between building sections. Plain ends accept standard PVC conduit cement for solvent-weld joints.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard fitting for 4-inch trade-size Schedule 40 PVC electrical conduit systems.
Installation should be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and applicable local codes. De-energize all circuits in the affected raceway before working on or pulling wire through the conduit system. Apply PVC conduit cement to both the fitting socket and conduit end before joining, following the cement manufacturer's cure time before pulling conductors. Do not use this fitting with Schedule 80 or other non-compatible conduit wall thicknesses without verifying dimensional compatibility.
