The IPEX 36836 is a 3/4-inch PVC Schedule 80 socket union engineered for industrial and commercial piping systems where chemical resistance and long service life are required. Built to Schedule 80 dimensional standards, this union allows for easy disconnection and reconnection of piping runs without cutting pipe. It is manufactured from high-performance PVC rated for a maximum service temperature of 140 degrees F in pressure service and 180 degrees F for intermittent gravity flow. Plumbers and pipefitters working in chemical processing, water treatment, and industrial process piping will find this fitting suitable for a wide range of aggressive media. Interior and exterior walls are smooth, resisting rust, scale, and corrosion.
This socket union is appropriate for residential, commercial, and industrial piping applications where PVC Schedule 80 fittings are specified. It is well-suited for systems carrying acids, alcohols, alkalis, salt solutions, and halogens. The fitting is also listed for use with potable water per National Sanitation Foundation and CSA International standards, making it a viable choice for water service and treatment applications in addition to chemical process lines.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard fitting for 3/4-inch PVC Schedule 80 piping systems in industrial, chemical process, and potable water applications.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or pipefitter familiar with solvent-welding PVC Schedule 80 systems. Shut off and depressurize the system fully before disassembly or installation. Use only Schedule 80-rated PVC primer and solvent cement appropriate for the service conditions. Follow applicable plumbing codes, including IPC provisions for plastic piping, and allow full cure time before returning the system to service.
