The IPEX 36776 is a 2.5-inch PVC Schedule 80 Socket Tee designed for industrial and commercial piping systems that demand reliable chemical resistance and long service life. This fitting connects three pipe runs in a tee configuration using solvent-weld socket joints, providing a pressure-rated connection suited for demanding fluid handling applications. The Schedule 80 wall thickness delivers additional pressure capability compared to Schedule 40, making it appropriate for higher-pressure process lines. With a maximum service temperature of 140 degrees F under pressure and 180 degrees F for intermittent gravity flow, it performs across a wide range of industrial and municipal installations. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters are the primary installers.
This socket tee is intended for use in chemical processing, industrial fluid handling, water treatment, and general process piping where corrosion resistance is a priority. It is suitable for potable water systems and is listed with the National Sanitation Foundation (NSF) and CSA International for that use. The fitting resists degradation from most acids, alcohols, alkalis, salt solutions, and halogens, making it a practical replacement for metal fittings in corrosive service environments. The smooth interior bore maintains consistent flow characteristics throughout the service life of the installation.
Designed as an OEM-style socket-weld fitting for 2.5-inch Schedule 80 PVC piping systems used in industrial, chemical process, and potable water applications.
Installation is typically performed by a licensed plumber or pipefitter following applicable plumbing codes such as the IPC and manufacturer solvent-welding instructions. Shut off and depressurize the piping system completely before cutting or joining any fittings. Use only PVC-rated primer and solvent cement appropriate for Schedule 80 fittings, and allow full cure time before returning the system to service. Do not exceed the rated service temperature or pressure for the fitting size.
