The IPEX 36695 is a PVC Schedule 80 reducing bushing with a spigot inlet and female socket outlet, engineered for industrial and commercial piping systems. It steps down a 2-inch line to a 1/2-inch connection and is manufactured to strict dimensional and performance standards under the Xirtec PVC system. Schedule 80 wall thickness provides the higher pressure ratings required in process piping, chemical handling, and other demanding applications. The bushing is resistant to rust, pitting, scaling, and corrosion, maintaining a smooth interior bore throughout its service life. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters are the primary installers in both new construction and retrofit work.
This bushing is suited for industrial process piping, chemical distribution lines, and commercial plumbing systems where a reduction from 2 inches to 1/2 inch is required. Its chemical resistance profile makes it appropriate for systems conveying acids, alcohols, alkalis, salt solutions, and halogens. It is also listed for potable water service, making it usable in water treatment and distribution applications where NSF and CSA compliance is required.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting for Schedule 80 PVC piping systems requiring a 2-inch spigot to 1/2-inch female socket reducing connection.
Installation is performed by a licensed plumber or pipefitter using standard PVC solvent cement and primer appropriate for Schedule 80 fittings. Shut off and depressurize the system completely before cutting into any existing line. Follow local plumbing code requirements, including IPC provisions for solvent-cemented joints and applicable cure times before returning the line to service. Do not apply flame or excessive mechanical stress to PVC fittings during installation.
