The IPEX 36686 is a PVC Schedule 80 reducing bushing with a spigot inlet and female socket outlet, designed for use in industrial and commercial piping systems. It transitions from a 1-inch line down to a 1/2-inch connection and is manufactured to meet strict dimensional and performance standards for pressure-rated PVC applications. Schedule 80 wall thickness provides the added pressure rating required in chemical process, industrial, and demanding utility piping installations. Licensed plumbers and industrial pipefitters install this fitting as part of a complete PVC pipe, valve, and fittings system.
This bushing is suited for industrial process piping, chemical handling systems, and commercial plumbing applications where corrosion resistance and long service life are required. The PVC Schedule 80 material handles a wide range of acids, alcohols, alkalis, salt solutions, and halogens, making it a practical choice for aggressive fluid environments. It is also listed with the National Sanitation Foundation and CSA International for use with potable water systems.
Designed as an OEM-style Schedule 80 PVC fitting for use in pressure-rated industrial, chemical process, and commercial plumbing piping systems accepting 1-inch spigot and 1/2-inch female socket connections.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or qualified pipefitter following applicable IPC and local plumbing code requirements. Shut off system pressure and drain the line completely before cutting or joining any fitting. Use only solvent cement rated for Schedule 80 PVC and allow full cure time before pressurizing the system. Do not over-ream or force misaligned connections, as Schedule 80 PVC fittings are not rated for deflected joints.
