The IPEX 36669 is a PVC Schedule 80 male x female reducing bushing designed for industrial and commercial piping systems. It reduces a 2-inch male connection to a 1-1/2-inch female socket, allowing transitions between pipe sizes within a Schedule 80 system. Built to IPEX dimensional and performance standards, this bushing resists corrosion, oxidation, and chemical attack from a broad range of process fluids. It is suited for chemical processing, water treatment, and other industrial fluid-handling applications where metal fittings are prone to corrosion or require excessive maintenance. Designed for use within Schedule 80 PVC piping systems as an OEM-style reducing bushing. Compatible with standard 2-inch male Schedule 80 PVC pipe and 1-1/2-inch female Schedule 80 PVC fittings or pipe ends.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or pipefitter in accordance with applicable plumbing codes such as the IPC. Shut off and depressurize the system completely before cutting into any existing line. Use a PVC-rated solvent cement appropriate for Schedule 80 fittings and allow full cure time before pressurizing the system. Do not apply heat to ease assembly, as this can compromise the dimensional integrity of Schedule 80 PVC components.
