The IPEX 36622 is a PVC Schedule 80 spigot x socket reducing bushing used to transition between a 2.5-inch spigot connection and a 2-inch socket connection in industrial and commercial piping systems. Manufactured to Schedule 80 dimensional standards, it delivers greater wall thickness and pressure ratings than Schedule 40 fittings, making it appropriate for demanding service conditions. The PVC construction resists corrosion, rust, pitting, and scale, and the interior surface stays smooth across a wide range of chemical services. Licensed plumbers and industrial pipefitters install this fitting as part of PVC pressure or process piping assemblies.
This bushing is suited for chemical process piping, industrial fluid handling, and potable water distribution systems where a reduction from 2.5-inch to 2-inch pipe is required. Its chemical resistance profile makes it a practical choice for systems carrying acids, alcohols, alkalis, salt solutions, and halogens. It is listed with the National Sanitation Foundation (NSF) and CSA International for use with potable water, extending its application range to water treatment and municipal supply work in addition to industrial process lines.
Designed as an OEM-style fitting for PVC Schedule 80 piping systems requiring a 2.5-inch to 2-inch spigot-to-socket reduction in industrial process, chemical handling, or potable water applications.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or qualified pipefitter following applicable IPC or local plumbing code requirements. Shut off system pressure and drain the line fully before cutting into any existing piping. Use appropriate PVC Schedule 80 solvent cement and primer for solvent-weld joints; do not use Schedule 40 cement on Schedule 80 fittings. Verify chemical compatibility of the solvent cement with the fluid service before installation.
