The IPEX 36618 is a PVC Schedule 80 reducing bushing with a spigot inlet and socket outlet, designed for use in industrial and commercial piping systems where chemical resistance and long-term durability are required. This bushing transitions a 2-inch line down to a 1-1/2-inch connection using a spigot-to-socket configuration that solvent-cements into standard Schedule 80 PVC fittings and pipe. The Schedule 80 wall thickness provides added pressure capacity compared to Schedule 40, making it appropriate for demanding process piping environments. Licensed plumbers and industrial pipefitters install this fitting in chemical process, industrial fluid handling, and potable water distribution systems.
This bushing is suited for residential, commercial, and industrial applications where PVC piping is used to handle a wide range of chemicals including most acids, alcohols, alkalis, salt solutions, and halogens. It is also listed for use with potable water systems, meeting National Sanitation Foundation (NSF) and CSA International standards. Typical installations include chemical process lines, water treatment systems, and general industrial fluid distribution where a reduction from 2 inches to 1-1/2 inches is required within a Schedule 80 PVC system.
Designed as an OEM-style fitting for Schedule 80 PVC piping systems requiring a 2-inch spigot to 1-1/2-inch socket reducing bushing connection in industrial, chemical process, and potable water applications.
This fitting is installed by licensed plumbers or qualified industrial pipefitters using standard PVC solvent cement and primer appropriate for Schedule 80 systems. Shut off and depressurize the piping system completely before cutting or fitting any section. Follow applicable codes including IPC and ASTM solvent-cement standards for joint preparation, application, and cure time. Do not use this fitting with solvents, adhesives, or fluids outside the chemical compatibility range of PVC.
