The IPEX 36617 is a PVC Schedule 80 spigot x socket bushing designed to reduce a 2-inch spigot connection down to a 1-1/4-inch socket connection within industrial and commercial piping systems. Manufactured to Schedule 80 dimensional and pressure standards, this bushing delivers the wall thickness and pressure rating required for demanding chemical process, industrial, and potable water applications. The PVC construction resists rust, pitting, scaling, and corrosion, and the smooth interior bore is maintained across virtually all service conditions. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters install this fitting as part of a complete PVC pressure piping system.
This bushing is suited for use in chemical processing lines, industrial fluid handling systems, and potable water installations where a pipe reduction between a 2-inch spigot and a 1-1/4-inch socket is required. It performs reliably with a broad range of acids, alcohols, alkalis, salt solutions, and halogens, making it a practical choice wherever metal fittings are vulnerable to corrosion or chemical attack. It is listed with the National Sanitation Foundation and CSA International for use with potable water systems.
Designed for use within Schedule 80 PVC pressure piping systems as an OEM-style reduction bushing. Listed with the National Sanitation Foundation and CSA International for potable water service. Suitable for chemical process and industrial fluid handling applications involving acids, alcohols, alkalis, salt solutions, and halogens.
Installation is performed by a licensed plumber or pipefitter following applicable IPC or local plumbing code requirements. Shut off system pressure and drain the line completely before removing or installing any fitting. Solvent cement the spigot end into the upstream female socket and the downstream pipe into the socket end using PVC-rated primer and cement per the fitting manufacturer guidelines. Do not apply heat or use threaded tools on spigot or socket ends.
