The IPEX 36608 is a PVC Schedule 80 reducing bushing with a spigot inlet and socket outlet, designed for industrial and commercial piping systems where chemical resistance and long service life are required. Sized to transition from a 1-1/4 inch line down to a 3/4 inch line, this bushing is manufactured to strict dimensional and performance standards under the IPEX Xirtec PVC system. The Schedule 80 wall construction provides greater pressure-bearing capacity than Schedule 40 and is well suited for demanding process environments. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters install this fitting in chemical process, industrial fluid handling, and potable water distribution systems.
This bushing is intended for use in industrial process piping, chemical distribution, and potable water systems requiring a reduction from 1-1/4 inches to 3/4 inches. Its PVC construction makes it a practical replacement for metal fittings in corrosive service environments involving acids, alcohols, alkalis, salt solutions, and halogens. It is listed by the National Sanitation Foundation (NSF) and CSA International for use with potable water, extending its application to municipal and commercial plumbing installations.
Designed as an OEM-style Schedule 80 PVC reducing bushing for use within the IPEX Xirtec PVC pipe, valves, and fittings system. Compatible with standard PVC Schedule 80 piping systems in 1-1/4 inch and 3/4 inch nominal sizes.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or pipefitter in accordance with applicable plumbing codes, including the IPC and ASTM solvent cementing standards for PVC pressure systems. Drain and depressurize the line fully before cutting into an existing system. Use a PVC Schedule 80 rated primer and solvent cement appropriate for the service conditions — do not substitute Schedule 40 cement on Schedule 80 assemblies. Allow full cure time before returning the system to service pressure.
