The IPEX 36529 is a Schedule 80 PVC nipple fitting designed for use in pressurized piping systems. It measures 1.5 inches in diameter and 4 inches in overall length, with male threaded connections on both ends. Manufactured from gray PVC conforming to ASTM D1784, D1785, and D2467, this nipple is injection molded for uniform wall thickness and consistent dimensional accuracy. The Schedule 80 wall rating delivers improved pressure handling capability compared to Schedule 40 fittings. Rated to 140 degrees F, it suits a wide range of potable water and general plumbing applications. A lifetime limited warranty backs the fitting against defects.
This nipple is suited for residential and light commercial potable water systems where threaded PVC connections are required. The male-threaded-by-male-threaded configuration allows direct connection between female-threaded fittings, valves, pumps, or other threaded components. Its smooth interior wall reduces pressure drop and supports higher flow volume compared to metal alternatives. The gray PVC construction resists corrosion and a broad range of chemicals, making it a reliable long-term choice for water distribution and similar fluid handling systems. Sold in packs of 25, it is well suited for contractors and service professionals managing volume installations.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting for Schedule 80 PVC threaded piping systems in potable water and compatible fluid handling applications.
Installation is typically performed by licensed plumbers working under applicable local plumbing codes, including IPC requirements for threaded plastic fittings. Shut off and depressurize the water system completely before removing or installing any threaded fitting. Use thread sealant or PTFE tape rated for use with PVC plastic threads, and hand-tighten followed by moderate wrench pressure only — overtightening threaded PVC fittings can cause cracking. Do not use pipe dope compounds that are incompatible with PVC.
