The IPEX 36521 is a Schedule 80 PVC nipple fitting designed for threaded pipe connections in pressurized plumbing systems. It measures 1-1/4 inches in diameter and 5 inches in overall length, with male threaded ends on both sides. Manufactured from gray PVC conforming to ASTM D1784, D1785, and D2467 material specifications, this nipple is injection molded for uniform wall thickness and consistent pressure handling. It carries an NSF listing for potable water applications and is rated to 140 degrees F. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters install this fitting where a close or extension nipple is needed between threaded components in Schedule 80 systems.
This fitting is suited for residential and light commercial plumbing, irrigation, and industrial process lines where Schedule 80 PVC is specified. Its NSF-listed rating for potable water makes it appropriate for domestic supply lines, water treatment installations, and pump discharge connections. The gray Schedule 80 wall thickness provides greater pressure capability compared to Schedule 40, making it a common choice in higher-demand or exposed piping runs. It is packaged in quantities of 25 per inner pack, which suits service vans and supply house pull quantities.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation nipple for Schedule 80 PVC threaded piping systems conforming to ASTM D1785 and D2467 standards.
Installation is performed by licensed plumbers following applicable IPC or local plumbing code requirements. Shut off system pressure and drain the line before removing any existing fitting. Use PTFE tape or thread sealant rated for PVC on all male threads before assembly. Do not use petroleum-based solvents or adhesives that are not compatible with PVC, as these will degrade the fitting material.
