The IPEX 36517 is a Schedule 80 PVC nipple fitting designed for use in pressurized piping systems. It features male threaded connections on both ends and measures 1-1/4 inches in diameter with an overall length of 3 inches. Manufactured from gray PVC via injection molding to ASTM D1784, D1785, and D2467 material specifications, this nipple delivers strong pressure handling capability and a smooth interior wall that minimizes pressure drop and supports higher flow volume compared to conventional metal fittings. It is rated for use up to 140 degrees F and carries NSF certification for potable water applications.
This fitting is intended for residential and commercial potable water piping systems where Schedule 80 PVC is specified. The male threaded by male threaded end configuration allows it to connect two female-threaded fittings, valves, or equipment ports. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters typically install this nipple in supply lines, valve assemblies, pump manifolds, and distribution headers where chemical and corrosion resistance is required. Its gray finish is consistent with standard Schedule 80 PVC system components.
Designed for use in Schedule 80 PVC potable water piping systems requiring 1-1/4 inch male threaded nipple fittings that conform to ASTM D1784, D1785, and D2467 specifications.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with the International Plumbing Code and applicable local codes. Shut off and depressurize the system before making any connections. Use thread sealant or PTFE tape rated for PVC and potable water service on all threaded joints. Do not overtighten threaded connections, as PVC threads can crack under excessive torque.
