The IPEX 36507 is a Schedule 80 PVC nipple fitting designed for use in pressurized piping systems where chemical resistance and long service life are required. Measuring 1 inch in diameter and 4 inches in overall length, this nipple features male threaded connections on both ends and is injection molded from gray PVC conforming to ASTM D1784, D1785, and D2467. The smooth interior walls reduce pressure loss and support higher flow volume compared to conventional metal fittings. Rated to 140 degrees F, it is listed for potable water applications under NSF standards. Plumbers and pipefitters install this fitting in both new construction and replacement work.
The 36507 is suited for residential and light commercial potable water systems where Schedule 80 PVC pipe is specified. Its male-threaded-by-male-threaded configuration makes it a standard transition or extension nipple between threaded fittings, valves, and equipment connections. The gray PVC construction provides excellent resistance to corrosion and a broad range of chemicals, making it appropriate for water supply lines and related plumbing assemblies where metal corrosion is a concern.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation nipple for Schedule 80 PVC threaded piping systems in potable water applications.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with applicable IPC or local plumbing codes. Shut off the water supply and depressurize the line before removing or installing any threaded fittings. Use PTFE tape or an approved thread sealant on all male threads and tighten to hand-tight plus a modest additional turn with a strap wrench — do not overtighten PVC threads, as cracking can result. Verify system pressure rating is within the Schedule 80 limits before returning the line to service.
