The IPEX 36496 is a Schedule 80 PVC nipple fitting designed for use in pressurized piping systems where chemical resistance and long service life are required. Measuring 0.75 inches in diameter and 5 inches in overall length, this injection-molded fitting features male threaded connections on both ends. Manufactured from gray PVC to ASTM D1784, D1785, and D2467 material specifications, it is rated for service up to 140 degrees F. The smooth interior walls reduce pressure loss and support higher flow volume compared to conventional metal fittings. It carries NSF certification for potable water applications and is backed by a lifetime limited warranty.
This nipple is suited for residential and light commercial potable water systems where PVC Schedule 80 pipe and fittings are specified. The male-threaded-by-male-threaded configuration makes it a standard close or extension nipple for connecting valves, pumps, filters, and other threaded components in water supply and distribution lines. It is injection molded for uniform wall thickness and consistent pressure ratings, with material reinforcement placed in stress concentration areas to improve pressure handling capability. It ships in packs of 25 per inner pack and 200 per master carton.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting for Schedule 80 PVC threaded piping systems, including potable water distribution and similar applications where PVC Schedule 80 fittings are specified per ASTM D1784, D1785, and D2467.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with applicable local plumbing codes and IPC requirements. Shut off and depressurize the system before making any threaded connections. Use thread sealant or PTFE tape rated for PVC and potable water service. Do not over-tighten threaded fittings, as PVC threads can crack under excessive torque.
