The IPEX 36425 is a 2-inch PVC Schedule 80 Socket x Male Adapter designed for industrial and commercial piping systems where chemical resistance and pressure performance are required. This fitting connects a socket-end pipe run to a male-threaded port, allowing integration between PVC pipe and threaded system components. Schedule 80 wall thickness provides increased pressure rating compared to Schedule 40. The smooth interior bore resists rust, scale, pitting, and corrosion throughout the service life of the fitting. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters install this adapter in chemical process, industrial fluid handling, and potable water distribution systems.
This adapter is suited for applications involving a wide range of aggressive media, including most acids, alcohols, alkalis, salt solutions, and halogens. It is listed with the National Sanitation Foundation (NSF) and CSA International for use with potable water systems, making it appropriate for both industrial chemical service and water distribution. The fitting is part of the IPEX Xirtec PVC system, a fully coordinated pipe, valves, and fittings platform engineered and manufactured to a single set of dimensional and performance standards. Typical installations include chemical process piping, industrial fluid transfer, and treated-water distribution in residential and commercial settings.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting for 2-inch PVC Schedule 80 piping systems. Compatible with Schedule 80 PVC pipe and threaded components of the same nominal size within the IPEX Xirtec PVC system.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or qualified pipefitter in accordance with applicable local plumbing codes and ASTM standards for PVC pressure piping. Shut off and depressurize the system completely before cutting into an existing line or removing any existing fitting. Use appropriate PVC Schedule 80 solvent cement and primer on the socket end, and apply thread sealant rated for PVC on the male-threaded end. Do not over-torque threaded connections, as PVC fittings are not rated for the same mechanical loads as metal hardware.
