The IPEX 36191 is a 6-inch PVC Schedule 80 90-degree elbow with a socket-by-socket end configuration, designed for industrial and commercial pressure piping systems. It is manufactured to Schedule 80 dimensional standards, providing greater wall thickness and pressure capacity than Schedule 40 fittings of the same size. The fitting handles a maximum service temperature of 140 degrees F in continuous pressure service and up to 180 degrees F in intermittent gravity-flow applications. The smooth interior bore resists rust, scale, and corrosion buildup. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters install this fitting in process piping, chemical handling, and industrial fluid conveyance systems.
This elbow is suited for industrial process piping, chemical distribution lines, and other applications where metallic fittings are unsuitable due to corrosion risk. It performs well with a wide range of acids, alcohols, alkalis, salt solutions, and halogens. The fitting is also listed by the National Sanitation Foundation (NSF) and CSA International for use with potable water systems, broadening its application to municipal and commercial water distribution where Schedule 80 wall thickness is specified.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting for 6-inch Schedule 80 PVC piping systems using solvent-cement socket connections in industrial, chemical process, and commercial water service applications.
Installation must be performed by a licensed plumber or qualified pipefitter in accordance with applicable plumbing codes such as the IPC or local authority requirements. Depressurize and drain the piping system fully before cutting into any existing line. Use only solvent cement and primer rated for Schedule 80 PVC and appropriate for the service fluid. Allow full cure time per the cement manufacturer before restoring pressure to the system.
