The IPEX 36186 is a 2-inch PVC Schedule 80 90-degree elbow with socket-by-socket end connections. It is designed for use in pressure piping and industrial process systems where chemical resistance and long-term durability are required. Manufactured to Schedule 80 dimensional standards, this fitting delivers greater wall thickness and higher pressure ratings than Schedule 40 equivalents. The PVC construction resists rust, pitting, scaling, and corrosion across a wide range of service fluids. Maximum service temperature is 140 degrees F under pressure and 180 degrees F for intermittent gravity flow. Plumbers, pipefitters, and industrial maintenance technicians install this fitting in chemical process, water treatment, and similar fluid-handling applications.
This elbow is suited for residential, commercial, and industrial piping systems handling acids, alcohols, alkalis, salt solutions, halogens, and similar aggressive media. It is listed with the National Sanitation Foundation (NSF) and CSA International for use with potable water, broadening its application range to include domestic water service and municipal distribution where Schedule 80 fittings are specified. The socket-by-socket configuration accepts solvent-cemented pipe connections on both ends, making it compatible with standard PVC Schedule 80 pipe of the same nominal size.
Designed as an OEM-style Schedule 80 PVC fitting for use with 2-inch PVC Schedule 80 pipe systems using solvent-cement joints in pressure and gravity-flow piping applications.
Installation is performed by licensed plumbers or qualified pipefitters following applicable IPC and local plumbing code requirements. Shut off flow and depressurize the line before cutting or joining any piping component. Use PVC-rated solvent cement and primer appropriate for Schedule 80 fittings; do not use heat fusion methods on PVC. Allow full cure time per the solvent cement manufacturer before returning the line to service.
