The IPEX 36185 is a 1-1/2 inch PVC Schedule 80 90-degree elbow with socket x socket end connections. It is part of the IPEX Xirtec PVC system, a complete pipe, valves, and fittings line engineered and manufactured to consistent dimensional and performance standards by a single manufacturer. This fitting is designed for industrial and commercial piping systems handling corrosive media, including most acids, alcohols, alkalis, salt solutions, and halogens. The maximum service temperature is 140 degrees F in pressure service and 180 degrees F for intermittent gravity flow. Plumbers and pipefitters working in chemical processing, industrial, and municipal applications install this fitting.
This elbow is suited for industrial process piping, chemical distribution systems, and water treatment applications where corrosion resistance and long service life are priorities. The Schedule 80 wall thickness provides greater pressure capacity and impact resistance compared to Schedule 40, making it appropriate for demanding service conditions. It is also listed for use with potable water systems per NSF and CSA International standards, expanding its range of appropriate applications to include commercial and municipal water distribution.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard component for Schedule 80 PVC piping systems using solvent-cement socket connections in industrial, chemical process, and potable water applications.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or pipefitter in accordance with applicable plumbing codes, including the IPC and local amendments. Isolate and fully drain the piping system before cutting or joining. Use only PVC-compatible primer and solvent cement rated for Schedule 80 fittings, and allow full cure time before returning the system to service. Do not apply heat to bend or adjust this fitting.
