The IPEX 36184 is a 1-1/4-inch PVC Schedule 80 90-degree elbow with socket-by-socket end connections, engineered for industrial and commercial piping systems that demand reliable chemical resistance and long service life. Rated for a maximum service temperature of 140 degrees F under pressure and 180 degrees F for intermittent gravity flow, this elbow handles demanding process conditions where metal fittings corrode or scale. The Schedule 80 wall thickness provides added pressure capacity compared to Schedule 40, making it appropriate for higher-pressure chemical process and industrial distribution lines. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters install this fitting as part of complete PVC pressure piping systems.
This elbow is suited for residential and commercial water distribution, chemical processing, industrial process piping, and other applications where corrosion resistance is critical. The socket configuration allows standard solvent-cement joining, keeping installation straightforward with common trade tools. It is rated for use with potable water systems and carries NSF and CSA International listings for that service. It performs reliably across a wide range of acids, alcohols, alkalis, salt solutions, and halogens, making it well-suited for plant utility and process distribution lines.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard fitting for 1-1/4-inch PVC Schedule 80 pressure piping systems joined by solvent cement.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or pipefitter following local plumbing codes and applicable standards. Depressurize and drain the system completely before cutting or modifying any piping. Use a PVC-rated solvent cement and primer appropriate for Schedule 80 pipe and fittings, and allow full cure time before restoring pressure. Avoid applying heat or open flame near PVC components during or after installation.
