The IPEX 36182 is a 3/4-inch Schedule 80 PVC 90-degree elbow with socket-by-socket connections, designed for industrial and chemical process piping systems that demand reliable pressure-rated fittings. Part of the IPEX Xirtec PVC system, this elbow is engineered and manufactured to IPEX dimensional and performance standards, eliminating the compatibility concerns that arise when mixing fittings from multiple suppliers. The fitting carries a maximum service temperature of 140 degrees F in pressure applications and 180 degrees F for intermittent gravity flow. It is listed with the National Sanitation Foundation (NSF) and CSA International for potable water service.
This elbow suits a wide range of industrial, commercial, and chemical process piping applications where metal corrosion, scaling, or chemical attack is a concern. Typical installations include chemical feed lines, water treatment systems, industrial process piping, and plumbing systems requiring a pressure-rated direction change. The smooth interior bore resists rust, pitting, scale, and corrosion throughout the service life of the fitting. It is appropriate for use with most acids, alcohols, alkalis, salt solutions, and halogens, making it a practical choice for aggressive-media environments where exotic metal alloys would otherwise be specified.
Designed as an OEM-specification fitting within the IPEX Xirtec PVC piping system. Suitable for use in Schedule 80 PVC piping systems with 3/4-inch socket-end pipe and fittings joined by solvent cement per applicable standards.
Installation is performed by licensed plumbers or qualified pipefitters following applicable plumbing codes, including IPC and local jurisdiction requirements. Shut off and depressurize the system completely before cutting into any existing piping. Clean and dry pipe ends thoroughly, apply the correct Schedule 80-rated PVC primer and solvent cement, and allow full cure time before restoring pressure. Do not exceed the rated service temperature or pressure for the pipe schedule and size in use.
