The IPEX 36093 is a 1-1/4 inch PVC Schedule 80 socket-by-socket coupling designed for use in industrial and commercial piping systems. This fitting connects two pipe sections of equal diameter using solvent-cement socket joints and is manufactured to Schedule 80 dimensional standards for higher pressure ratings than Schedule 40 equivalents. The PVC construction provides strong resistance to corrosion, rust, pitting, and scaling, keeping interior walls smooth throughout the service life of the installation. It is suited for chemical process lines, industrial fluid handling, and other applications where metal fittings are prone to degradation. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters are the primary installers in both new construction and retrofit work.
This coupling is appropriate for residential, commercial, and industrial piping applications involving potable water, acids, alcohols, salts, and halogens. Its Schedule 80 wall thickness makes it a preferred choice in systems requiring elevated pressure capacity compared to standard Schedule 40 fittings. The smooth interior bore minimizes flow restriction, and the PVC material resists photodegradation and creep stress over extended service cycles. It is part of the IPEX Xirtec PVC system, a complete pipe, valves, and fittings package engineered and manufactured to consistent dimensional and performance standards by a single manufacturer.
Designed for use within the IPEX Xirtec PVC piping system as an OEM-dimensioned Schedule 80 socket coupling for 1-1/4 inch PVC pipe. Compatible with standard Schedule 80 PVC pipe and fittings conforming to ASTM dimensional requirements.
Installation is performed by licensed plumbers or pipefitters using standard PVC solvent cement and primer appropriate for Schedule 80 fittings. Shut off and depressurize the line before cutting out any existing fitting or pipe section. Follow IPC and local plumbing code requirements for solvent-cement joint cure times before returning the system to service. Do not use threaded or push-fit connection methods on socket-end Schedule 80 fittings.
