The IPEX 36092 is a 1-inch Schedule 80 PVC socket-by-socket coupling designed for use in industrial and commercial piping systems. Built to Schedule 80 wall thickness standards, this fitting delivers higher pressure ratings than Schedule 40 equivalents, making it a reliable choice for demanding process piping environments. The PVC construction provides strong resistance to corrosion, rust, pitting, and scale, keeping interior walls smooth throughout the service life of the system. It is engineered and manufactured to strict dimensional and performance standards as part of the IPEX Xirtec PVC system, a complete Pipe, Valves, and Fittings package produced by a single manufacturer.
This coupling is suited for residential, commercial, and industrial piping applications where chemical resistance and long service life are required. Typical installations include chemical process lines, water treatment systems, and industrial fluid handling. The 1-inch socket-by-socket configuration allows solvent-cement joining on both ends, making it compatible with standard PVC pipe of the same nominal size and schedule. It performs well with a wide range of acids, alcohols, salts, and halogens, and is listed as suitable for potable water service.
Designed as an OEM-style fitting within the IPEX Xirtec PVC system for use with standard 1-inch Schedule 80 PVC pipe in industrial, chemical process, and potable water piping applications.
Installation of PVC Schedule 80 fittings is typically performed by licensed plumbers or industrial pipefitters in accordance with applicable local plumbing codes and ASTM standards. Shut off and depressurize the system completely before cutting or joining any pipe section. Use the correct PVC solvent cement and primer rated for Schedule 80 fittings, and allow full cure time before returning the line to service. Avoid using this fitting beyond its rated temperature and pressure limits.
