The IPEX 36065 is a 3-inch PVC Schedule 80 socket cap designed to terminate the end of a Schedule 80 PVC piping run with a pressure-rated, chemically resistant seal. Built to Schedule 80 dimensional standards, this cap offers greater wall thickness than Schedule 40, making it suitable for higher-pressure industrial and chemical process applications. It is manufactured from rigid PVC formulated to resist rust, corrosion, pitting, and scaling. Licensed plumbers, pipefitters, and industrial maintenance technicians install this fitting in systems where long service life and minimal maintenance are required. The maximum service temperature is 140 degrees F in pressure service and 180 degrees F for intermittent gravity flow.
This socket cap is used in industrial piping systems handling a wide range of aggressive media, including most acids, alcohols, alkalis, salt solutions, and halogens. It is suited for chemical process piping, water treatment, industrial fluid handling, and similar applications where metal corrosion is a concern. The socket-style end connection accepts a solvent-cemented pipe end, creating a permanent, leak-resistant joint consistent with Schedule 80 system requirements. It is part of the IPEX Xirtec PVC system, a complete pipe, valves, and fittings package designed and manufactured to a single set of quality and dimensional standards.
Designed for use within the IPEX Xirtec PVC Schedule 80 pipe, valves, and fittings system. Compatible with standard Schedule 80 PVC pipe with a 3-inch nominal diameter using solvent cement joining.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or qualified pipefitter in accordance with applicable plumbing and mechanical codes. Depressurize and drain the piping system completely before cutting into an existing line or installing this cap. Use PVC-rated primer and solvent cement appropriate for Schedule 80 fittings, following the cement manufacturer's cure time requirements before returning the system to service. Do not use this fitting beyond its rated temperature or pressure limits.
