The IPEX 35607 is a Schedule 40 PVC male adapter fitting designed to transition between socket (slip) and male pipe thread (MPT) connections in pressure piping systems. At 2 inches in size, this white PVC adapter is manufactured to Xirtec-140 material standards, which specifies a high-impact, high-strength PVC compound rated for demanding service conditions. Plumbers and pipefitters use this fitting to connect plain-end PVC pipe on the socket side to a threaded port or valve on the male-thread side. It is a standard component in residential and light commercial plumbing, irrigation, and industrial piping layouts.
This adapter is suited for cold and hot water distribution, irrigation manifolds, pool and spa equipment plumbing, and industrial process lines where Schedule 40 PVC pressure ratings are appropriate. The socket end accepts solvent-cement bonding to standard 2-inch Schedule 40 PVC pipe, while the MPT end threads into female-threaded fittings, valves, pumps, and equipment ports. It is a common fitting in both new construction and repair work wherever a slip-to-threaded transition is required in a PVC system.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard fitting for use with 2-inch Schedule 40 PVC piping systems in plumbing, irrigation, pool and spa, and light industrial applications.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or qualified pipefitter in accordance with local plumbing codes and ASTM standards for solvent-cemented PVC joints. Depressurize and drain the line completely before cutting into an existing system. Use the appropriate PVC primer and solvent cement for the socket connection, and allow full cure time before pressurizing. Do not overtighten the MPT connection into a female-threaded port, as PVC threads can crack under excessive torque.
