The IPEX 257553 is a 3-inch flame-retardant polypropylene (FRPP) acid waste cleanout tee engineered for the Enfield electrofusion-joint system. This fitting provides a cleanout access point in corrosive chemical waste drainage systems and is fabricated from fusion-grade FRPP material that meets ASTM F1412 and ASTM D4101 specifications. The electrofusion joint design embeds heavy-gauge resistance wire directly into the socket, eliminating loose components and delivering controlled, repeatable fusion bonds. Licensed plumbers and mechanical contractors install this fitting in laboratory, industrial, and institutional drain systems where chemical resistance and joint integrity are critical.
The 257553 is designed for use in non-return-air-plenum chemical waste drainage applications where corrosive effluent requires a material that resists degradation. The Enfield FRPP system supports an operating temperature range of -10 degrees F to 212 degrees F, making it suitable for systems that require periodic hot-water or boiling-water flushing. The fitting is listed to NSF 14 and carries IAPMO listing, supporting code-compliance submissions in jurisdictions that reference these standards.
Designed for use within the IPEX Enfield electrofusion-joint system for FRPP and NFRPP corrosive waste drainage piping. All Enfield pipe and fittings are matched as a system to ensure dimensional consistency and reliable joint performance.
Installation of electrofusion fittings requires a microprocessor-controlled fusion unit, such as the Enfusion controller, to ensure proper joint cycle time and repeatability. Shut down all flow in the drain system and allow pipe surfaces to be clean and dry before beginning fusion. Work should be performed by a licensed plumber or mechanical contractor familiar with FRPP electrofusion procedures and applicable plumbing code requirements, including those referencing IAPMO standards. Do not disturb a fused joint until the manufacturer-specified cooling period has elapsed.
