The IPEX 257390 is a 2-inch flame-retardant polypropylene (FRPP) electrofusion wye fitting designed for corrosive chemical waste drainage systems. Part of the IPEX Enfield electrofusion-joint system, this fitting uses heavy-gauge resistance wire molded directly into the socket to deliver controlled, repeatable fusion joints. The Enfield system is engineered for non-return-air-plenum chemical waste applications where resistance to corrosive drain, waste, and vent service is required. A microprocessor-controlled Enfusion unit drives the fusion process, completing secure joints in approximately 2 minutes. Licensed plumbers and mechanical contractors familiar with polypropylene piping systems typically perform this installation.
The IPEX 257390 is suited for laboratory, industrial, and institutional facilities where corrosive chemical waste must be conveyed safely. The Enfield system is specifically intended for non-return-air-plenum chemical waste drainage. The FRPP material supports an operating temperature range from -10 degrees F to 212 degrees F, allowing systems to be flushed with boiling water without concern for fitting deformation. This wye fitting integrates into the matched Enfield pipe-and-fitting system, which is sized and toleranced to deliver consistent installation results and long-term service reliability.
Designed for use within the IPEX Enfield electrofusion pipe-and-fitting system for corrosive chemical waste drainage in non-return-air-plenum applications. Pipe and fittings comply with ASTM F1412 and ASTM D4101 material requirements. All fittings are listed to NSF 14 and IAPMO standards.
Installation is performed by a licensed plumber or mechanical contractor experienced with electrofusion polypropylene piping systems. Power down or isolate any active drainage flow before cutting into an existing system. The microprocessor-controlled Enfusion unit must be used to achieve proper joint fusion — do not attempt heat-fusion with generic tools not approved for the Enfield system. Follow applicable plumbing codes, including IPC and IAPMO standards, for chemical waste drainage installations.
