The IPEX 257238 is a 3-inch flame-retardant polypropylene (FRPP) fusion acid waste spigot cleanout, part of the Enfield electrofusion-joint system. Designed for corrosive chemical waste drainage, it uses a microprocessor-controlled electrofusion joining method that produces secure, repeatable joints in approximately 2 minutes. The fitting is manufactured from FRPP with an operating temperature range of -10 degrees F to 212 degrees F, making it suitable for high-temperature drainage lines including systems flushed with boiling water. Licensed plumbers and mechanical contractors install this fitting in commercial and institutional chemical waste systems where corrosion resistance and joint integrity are critical.
The IPEX 257238 is used in non-return-air-plenum chemical waste drainage applications across laboratory, industrial, and institutional settings. The Enfield system is engineered for environments where acid or corrosive waste is discharged, requiring a piping system that resists chemical attack and maintains long-term reliability. The spigot cleanout configuration provides access for maintenance and inspection of the drainage line. The FRPP material and electrofusion joint design are particularly well suited for installations where glass or PVC systems are inadequate.
Designed for use within the IPEX Enfield electrofusion-joint system for corrosive chemical waste drainage. Pipe and fittings within the Enfield system are matched to ensure ease of installation and long-term reliability. A non-flame-retardant polypropylene (NFRPP) version is also available.
Installation of this fitting requires a microprocessor-controlled Enfusion control unit to produce properly fused joints. Licensed plumbers should follow applicable plumbing codes, including IPC requirements for chemical waste systems, and ensure the drainage system is depressurized and drained before making any connections or accessing the cleanout. Multiple joints can be staged and fused in sequence to improve workflow on larger installations. Do not substitute non-Enfield pipe or fittings, as matched components are required for correct fusion geometry and joint integrity.
