The IPEX 257235 is a 2-inch flame-retardant polypropylene (FRPP) spigot cleanout fitting designed for the Enfield electrofusion-joint acid waste drainage system. It provides a secure, maintenance-free connection point in chemical waste piping networks where corrosive drain lines require reliable access for cleaning and inspection. Joints are made using a microprocessor-controlled fusion unit that bonds heavy-gauge resistance wire molded directly into the socket, eliminating loose components and ensuring repeatable, controlled fusion every time. Licensed plumbers install this fitting as part of a matched FRPP pipe-and-fitting system built to handle operating temperatures from -10 degrees F to 212 degrees F.
The IPEX 257235 is suited for non-return-air-plenum chemical waste drainage applications in laboratories, industrial facilities, semiconductor fabrication spaces, and similar environments where corrosive effluent is present. The Enfield system is engineered as a matched assembly, meaning pipe and fittings are dimensionally coordinated for consistent joint quality and long-term reliability. The flame-retardant polypropylene construction makes it appropriate for installations where building codes require FRPP material in chemical waste systems. A non-flame-retardant polypropylene (NFRPP) version is also available separately.
Designed for use within the IPEX Enfield electrofusion acid waste drainage system using flame-retardant polypropylene pipe and fittings compliant with ASTM F1412 for corrosive waste drainage applications.
Installation is performed by a licensed plumber familiar with chemical waste drainage systems and applicable plumbing codes such as the IPC. Shut off all flow and depressurize the line before cutting in or servicing the cleanout. Fusion joints require the Enfield microprocessor-controlled Enfusion unit — do not attempt to make electrofusion connections with non-matched equipment. Verify that the selected fitting material (FRPP or NFRPP) meets the requirements of the local authority having jurisdiction before installation.
