The IPEX 257212 is a flame-retardant polypropylene (FRPP) reducing sanitary tee designed for the Enfield electrofusion-joint drainage system. It connects 4-inch main lines to 2-inch branch lines in chemical waste drainage applications. The FRPP material handles an operating temperature range from -10 degrees F to 212 degrees F, making it suitable for systems that require periodic boiling-water flushing. Heavy-gauge resistance wire is molded directly into the socket, eliminating loose components and ensuring controlled, repeatable fusion joints. Licensed plumbers install this fitting as part of a matched pipe-and-fitting system engineered for long-term reliability in corrosive waste service.
The 257212 is intended for non-return-air-plenum chemical and acid waste drainage installations in laboratory, industrial, and commercial facilities. The Enfield electrofusion system allows multiple joints to be made simultaneously, and each joint reaches full fusion in approximately 2 minutes, reducing overall installation time compared to solvent-weld or glass alternatives. The matched Enfield pipe-and-fitting system is designed to deliver ease of installation even in confined or difficult-access areas. FRPP construction eliminates the breakage risk associated with glass drainage systems and requires no scheduled maintenance once installed.
Designed for use within the IPEX Enfield electrofusion pipe-and-fitting system for corrosive and acid waste drainage. Complies with ASTM F1412 for polyolefin pipe and fittings for corrosive waste drainage systems and ASTM D4101 for polypropylene injection and extrusion materials. Listed to NSF 14 standard and IAPMO.
Installation must be performed by a licensed plumber following applicable local plumbing codes and IAPMO standards. Shut off all flow and depressurize the waste line before making any connections. Fusion joints require a compatible microprocessor-controlled Enfusion unit to achieve proper joint quality — do not attempt to fuse without the correct equipment. Verify fitting orientation and branch direction before initiating the fusion cycle, as hardened electrofusion joints cannot be repositioned.
