The IPEX 257211 is a 4-inch flame-retardant polypropylene (FRPP) sanitary tee fitting designed for corrosive chemical waste drainage systems. Part of the IPEX Enfield electrofusion-joint system, this fitting uses heavy-gauge resistance wire molded directly into the socket to deliver controlled, repeatable fusion joints. A microprocessor-controlled Enfusion unit drives the joining process, producing secure joints in approximately 2 minutes. The 257211 is listed to NSF 14 and certified by IAPMO, and the material complies with ASTM F1412 and ASTM D4101. Licensed plumbers and mechanical contractors install this fitting in non-return-air plenum chemical waste piping.
The IPEX 257211 is suited for chemical waste drain, waste, and vent applications in laboratory, industrial, and institutional settings where corrosive effluent is present. The Enfield FRPP system serves virtually all non-return-air plenum chemical waste applications. The operating temperature range of -10 degrees F to 212 degrees F allows systems to be flushed with boiling water, making it appropriate for high-temperature waste streams. Black non-flame-retardant polypropylene (NFRPP) versions are also available from the manufacturer for applications where flame retardancy is not required.
Designed for use within the IPEX Enfield electrofusion system for FRPP corrosive chemical waste drainage piping. Compatible pipe and fittings must be matched components within the Enfield system to ensure joint integrity and long-term reliability.
Installation requires a microprocessor-controlled Enfusion electrofusion unit and must be performed by a licensed plumber familiar with FRPP chemical waste systems. Power down or depressurize any connected system before making joints. Follow applicable plumbing codes including IPC and IAPMO standards for chemical waste drainage installations. Do not attempt fusion joints with incompatible or non-Enfield-system components, as joint integrity depends on matched pipe and fitting tolerances.
