The IPEX 257207 is a flame-retardant polypropylene (FRPP) fusion reducing sanitary tee engineered for chemical and acid waste drainage systems. Part of the Enfield electrofusion-joint system, this fitting uses heavy-gauge resistance wire molded directly into the socket to create a controlled, repeatable fusion joint in approximately 2 minutes. The FRPP material handles an operating temperature range of -10 degrees F to 212 degrees F, allowing systems to be flushed with boiling water without fitting degradation. Plumbers and pipefitters working on corrosive waste drain lines install this fitting where chemical resistance and joint integrity are critical. It complies with ASTM F1412 and ASTM D4101, and is listed to NSF 14 and IAPMO.
This reducing sanitary tee transitions a 2-inch main line to a 1-1/2-inch branch and is designed for non-return air plenum chemical waste drainage applications in commercial, laboratory, industrial, and institutional settings. The Enfield FRPP system is suitable wherever corrosive waste drainage is required and standard PVC or ABS fittings are not chemically appropriate. The electrofusion joining method makes this fitting practical even in confined or difficult-to-access areas of a chase or mechanical room.
Designed for use within the IPEX Enfield electrofusion-joint system for corrosive and acid waste drainage. Pipe and fittings in the Enfield line are matched as a system to ensure ease of installation and long-term reliability. A non-flame-retardant polypropylene (NFRPP) version of the Enfield system is also available separately.
Installation of electrofusion polypropylene acid waste fittings should be performed by a licensed plumber familiar with FRPP electrofusion procedures and the requirements of the applicable plumbing code, such as the IPC or UPC. Before beginning work, shut off all flow to the drain system and verify the pipe ends are clean, dry, and cut square to the manufacturer's dimensional tolerances. Use the microprocessor-controlled Enfusion unit specified for the Enfield system to ensure correct fusion cycle time and joint integrity. Do not attempt to heat-fuse these fittings with open-flame or non-rated equipment.
