The IPEX 257195 is a 3-inch flame-retardant polypropylene (FRPP) 45-degree elbow fitting designed for corrosive and acid waste drainage systems. Part of the IPEX Enfield electrofusion-joint system, this elbow connects using a controlled fusion process that produces a secure, leak-resistant joint in approximately 2 minutes. The fitting is manufactured from flame-retardant polypropylene with a heavy-gauge resistance wire molded directly into the socket, eliminating loose components and ensuring repeatable joint quality. Licensed plumbers and mechanical contractors install this fitting in chemical waste drain, waste, and vent systems where standard PVC or ABS is not suitable for the chemical exposure or temperature demands of the application.
The IPEX 257195 is intended for non-return-air-plenum chemical waste drainage applications in laboratory, industrial, and institutional settings. The Enfield FRPP system handles an operating temperature range of -10 degrees F to 212 degrees F, allowing drainage lines to be flushed with boiling water without damaging the piping system. The electrofusion joint method allows multiple joints to be prepared simultaneously, reducing labor time compared to solvent-weld or mechanical systems. The FRPP material and system design make this elbow appropriate for corrosive waste environments where chemical resistance and flame retardancy are both required by code.
Designed for use within the IPEX Enfield electrofusion-joint system for FRPP corrosive waste drainage piping. Pipe and fittings in the Enfield system are matched to ensure ease of installation and long-term reliability. A non-flame-retardant polypropylene (NFRPP) version of Enfield pipe and fittings is also available separately.
Installation requires a microprocessor-controlled Enfusion unit to complete the electrofusion joint process; do not attempt to connect fittings without the appropriate fusion control equipment. Licensed plumbers or mechanical contractors should perform installation in accordance with applicable plumbing codes, including IPC and IAPMO requirements. Shut off all flow and depressurize the waste line before cutting into an existing system. Ensure pipe ends are clean, dry, and properly inserted to the marked depth before initiating the fusion cycle.
