The IPEX 257132 is a 2-inch flame-retardant polypropylene (FRPP) female adapter designed for electrofusion acid waste drainage systems. Part of the IPEX Enfield system, this fitting uses a heavy-gauge resistance wire molded directly into the socket to create a controlled, repeatable fusion joint in approximately 2 minutes. It is engineered for corrosive chemical waste drainage in non-return-air plenum environments and is intended for installation by licensed plumbers. The FRPP material supports an operating temperature range of -10 degrees F to 212 degrees F, allowing systems to be flushed with boiling water without degrading joint integrity.
The 257132 adapter is suited for chemical waste drainage systems in laboratory, industrial, educational, and healthcare facilities where corrosive drain lines require reliable, maintenance-free connections. The Enfield electrofusion system is designed for applications where glass or traditional piping materials present breakage, cost, or installation challenges. The female adapter serves as a transition point within an all-polypropylene acid waste system, connecting pipe runs in areas where access is limited or joint repeatability is critical.
Designed for use within the IPEX Enfield electrofusion acid waste drainage system using flame-retardant polypropylene pipe and fittings compliant with ASTM F1412 and ASTM D4101. Listed to NSF 14 and IAPMO standards for corrosive waste drainage applications.
Installation is performed by a licensed plumber following applicable plumbing codes, including IPC provisions for chemical waste drainage systems. Shut off all flow and depressurize the line before making or breaking any connections. The electrofusion joint process requires a compatible microprocessor-controlled Enfusion control unit to ensure proper fusion parameters are met. Do not use open flame or mechanical compression methods to join Enfield FRPP fittings.
