The IPEX 257104 is a 1-1/2-inch flame-retardant polypropylene (FRPP) acid waste P-trap built for the Enfield electrofusion-joint drainage system. It is designed for corrosive chemical waste drainage in non-return-air-plenum environments. The fitting is manufactured from FRPP with a rated operating temperature range of -10 degrees F to 212 degrees F, making it suitable for systems that require boiling-water flush-down. Heavy-gauge resistance wire is molded directly into the socket, eliminating loose fusion components and ensuring controlled, repeatable joint formation. Licensed plumbers and corrosive-waste drainage installers are the primary tradespeople working with this fitting.
The IPEX 257104 is used in laboratory, industrial, and institutional chemical waste drain systems where corrosive effluent requires non-metallic piping. The Enfield electrofusion system allows multiple joints to be made simultaneously, reducing installation time. Fusion joints are completed in approximately two minutes using a microprocessor-controlled Enfusion unit, which ensures joint integrity and repeatability. This fitting is appropriate for any corrosive waste drainage application outside of return-air plenums where FRPP material is specified or required by code.
Designed for use within the IPEX Enfield electrofusion corrosive waste drainage system. Pipe and fittings within the Enfield system are matched to one another for dimensional consistency and long-term joint reliability in chemical waste drainage applications.
Installation of acid waste drainage systems should be performed by a licensed plumber familiar with corrosive-waste piping codes, including applicable sections of the International Plumbing Code (IPC). Shut off all flow and depressurize or drain the waste line before making any connections. Electrofusion joints require a compatible microprocessor-controlled Enfusion control unit — do not attempt to fuse joints with unapproved heat sources. Verify that the installation environment is classified as a non-return-air-plenum space before specifying FRPP fittings.
