The IPEX 257034 is a 3-inch flame-retardant polypropylene (FRPP) 90-degree elbow fitting designed for chemical and acid waste drainage systems. It is part of the Enfield electrofusion-joint system, which uses heavy-gauge resistance wire molded directly into the socket to create a controlled, secure fusion joint. The fitting is rated for an operating temperature range of -10 degrees F to 212 degrees F, allowing system flushing with boiling water. Licensed plumbers and corrosive-waste system installers use this fitting in non-return air plenum chemical waste applications. The Fusion X Spigot end configuration provides reliable directional changes in drain piping without loose components or adhesive bonding.
This elbow is suited for laboratory, industrial, and institutional piping systems that handle corrosive chemical waste. It is installed in non-return air plenum environments where conventional PVC or ABS fittings are not appropriate. The Enfield system is designed so that multiple joints can be made simultaneously, reducing labor time compared to traditional glass or other chemical-resistant piping systems. The installed cost of Enfield FRPP fittings is significantly lower than comparable borosilicate glass systems, and the material eliminates the breakage risk inherent to glass piping.
Designed for use within the IPEX Enfield electrofusion-joint system for FRPP corrosive acid waste drainage piping. Compatible pipe and fittings must comply with ASTM F1412 for polyolefin corrosive waste drainage systems.
Installation is performed by licensed plumbers familiar with electrofusion joining procedures and corrosive-waste drainage codes, including applicable sections of the IPC. Power down and de-pressurize any existing system before cutting into live drain lines. Use the Enfusion microprocessor-controlled fusion unit as specified by IPEX for this fitting size to achieve proper joint fusion. Do not attempt to solvent-weld or mechanically join FRPP Enfield fittings using methods intended for PVC or ABS systems.
