The IPEX 257032 is a 4-inch, 90-degree elbow fitting engineered for corrosive chemical waste drainage systems. Manufactured from flame-retardant polypropylene (FRPP), this fitting is part of the IPEX Enfield electrofusion-joint system, designed to create secure, repeatable joints through a microprocessor-controlled fusion process. The FRPP material provides an operating temperature range of -10 degrees F to 212 degrees F, allowing systems to be flushed with boiling water without damage. Licensed plumbers and mechanical contractors install these fittings in laboratory, industrial, and institutional drain systems where chemical resistance and joint integrity are critical.
This fitting is suited for non-return-air plenum chemical waste applications in residential laboratory, commercial, and institutional settings. The Enfield electrofusion system eliminates breakage risks associated with glass pipe systems and reduces installed cost compared to glass alternatives. Heavy-duty socket terminal posts with protection ears simplify connections even in confined or difficult-to-access areas. Multiple joints can be fused simultaneously, reducing overall installation time on larger projects.
Designed for use within the IPEX Enfield electrofusion-joint system for corrosive waste drainage. Pipe and fittings comply with ASTM F1412 (Polyolefin Pipe and Fittings for Corrosive Waste Drainage Systems) and material requirements of ASTM D4101. Listed to NSF 14 and IAPMO standards.
Installation requires use of the microprocessor-controlled Enfusion unit — do not attempt joint fusion without the compatible control unit. Licensed plumbers should de-pressurize and drain the system fully before cutting into any existing waste line. Follow local plumbing codes and IAPMO-listed installation requirements for chemical waste drainage systems. Confirm pipe and fitting material compatibility with the specific chemical waste stream prior to installation.
