The IPEX 212pma is a PVC Schedule 40 conduit male terminal adapter sized for 2.5-inch trade-size conduit runs. This fitting provides a threaded male connection point for transitioning non-metallic conduit into metallic enclosures, junction boxes, and panel knockouts. Constructed from rigid PVC, it delivers corrosion resistance in both indoor and outdoor conduit installations. Electricians use this adapter to complete raceway runs where a non-metallic conduit system must terminate at a metallic box or enclosure, providing a secure, code-compliant mechanical connection at the endpoint of the conduit assembly.
This terminal adapter is suited for residential and light commercial electrical installations where PVC Schedule 40 conduit is the specified raceway. It is commonly installed at panel boards, junction boxes, and enclosures where the conduit run terminates and a threaded male fitting is required to complete the connection between the non-metallic conduit system and the metallic system beyond the box wall.
Designed as an OEM-style fitting for use with 2.5-inch trade-size PVC Schedule 40 conduit systems terminating at metallic enclosures or junction boxes.
Installation is performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with NEC Article 352 governing rigid PVC conduit. De-energize all circuits in the enclosure before securing the adapter at the box knockout. PVC conduit cement is typically applied at the conduit-side socket joint; verify local code requirements for solvent-weld technique and cure time before pulling conductors. Do not overtighten the threaded male connection at the enclosure wall, as PVC threads can crack under excessive torque.
