The IPEX 100012prb is a PVC Schedule 40 conduit reducer bushing configured in a bell-by-spigot connection style. It transitions a 1-inch conduit opening down to a 0.5-inch conduit, making it a standard fitting for electrical conduit runs where a reduction in diameter is required. The bushing is manufactured from Schedule 40 PVC, which provides solid resistance to corrosion and is appropriate for both exposed and concealed electrical installations. Electricians use this fitting to maintain continuous conduit paths while changing conduit sizes cleanly and without additional adapters.
This reducer bushing is suited for residential and light commercial electrical conduit systems. The bell-by-spigot design means the bell end receives the larger conduit and the spigot end inserts into the smaller fitting or conduit body. It is a common fitting in branch circuit conduit work, panel feeds, and junction box connections where conduit size changes are needed along the run.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard fitting for PVC Schedule 40 electrical conduit systems requiring a 1-inch to 0.5-inch reduction.
Installation is performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with applicable NEC requirements for conduit systems. De-energize all circuits in the conduit run before beginning work. Apply PVC conduit cement to the spigot end before inserting into the mating fitting, and allow adequate cure time before pulling wire. Do not use pipe thread sealants or fittings rated for pressure plumbing in place of conduit-rated cement and fittings.
